Meet Mari

Mari Baird Tetwiler grew up in Logan, Kansas and attended Kansas State University where she earned a Masters Degree in Education. She taught K-12 gifted education and was an advocate for creative thinking and creative problem solving programs, implementing several national programs in Kansas school districts including Odyssey of the Mind, Science Olympiad, Hubbard Math, Model United Nations, and FIRST Robotics.

 

She founded a “Girl’s Seminar” where young girls connected with and learned firsthand about career paths from women leaders across different fields. Mari treasures time with her family, and loves to sing, play the piano, paint, read, garden, and travel.

 

She is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators. Mari and her husband Lee live in Paola, Kansas, where they have raised four, grown gifted children. You will see Mari’s cat, Anna, in illustrations throughout this book. This is her debut book, written to encourage all persons to be creative, dream big, and believe in themselves!
